Right? The face I made when I saw it; weight wank is bottom of the barrel and yet people flock and show their whole ass.

IDK right now all I've got since I'm at my parents' house is "my dad's opinions about random movies" which would include that My Dinner with Andre is the worst movie of all time, he didn't understand Everything Everywhere All at Once, he can't remember what happened in The Old Guard and as such doesn't care that the sequel might actually released, and apparently that Chariots of Fire was too slow (and my mother for some reason thought it was a movie about white supremacy????). But I have a feeling I am about to get yelled at to go on a family walk so no post from me.

I’m glad plus sizes are now actual plus sizes. I was always plus size growing up and I was legitimate plus size, not hollywood or fashion plus size and it was hardly ever portrayed accurately.
An acquaintance’s little sister became a model when she was like a sophomore or junior in high school. She was a legit working model traveling internationally for work. I feel like she had a body like Wendy Peppercorn and she was considered plus size in fashion. It is nice having authentic representation. The sad thing is that Kate probably was considered chubby back then because we were so deep in heroin chic.

In Dave Holmes’ book he said he was talking to a music exec who liked Britney Spears because “she was a little fat.” It’s fucking insane what the standards were.

James Cameron nicknamed her "Kate Weighs-a-lot" during the filming of Titanic. Supposedly it was a joke. ¬_¬

this is a myth! as per this archived web 1.0 fansite transcript of a 2004 interview: https://www.oocities.org/mccwinslet/article01.html

and i can’t remember where i read this but i’m 90% james cameron is on record somewhere being like “and another thing that’s great about kate for the role is that she’s beautiful from literally any possible angle”

james cameron has done his fair share of Stuff but on the subject of kate winslet he seems to have behaved: Acceptably

The fact that Kate Winslet was ever considered plus size is fucking insane and it’s also disgusting that her body type is the limit he wasn’t willing to hit as far as showing a bigger woman on screen. Foul.

I read an interview with Metz the other day about the physical, mental, and emotional abuse she experienced from her stepfather for being overweight. It made me so angry. I also hate how her body is used for those fake ads on websites with the caption always being something like “look at the skinny star now!!!!!!”

Leave this woman alone.

I never watched this show, but I imagine she has to have incredibly thick skin to be in a public facing job with people (like this exec) being the way that they are, generally speaking. I could not do it.

She's truly inspiring. Seems like she's been struggling her entire life, and instead of letting it get to her, she's chosen to tell a powerful story and expose herself to public scrutiny.

I have no idea what This is Us is about but I’m assuming it’s not set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland lmao
