Is beer an acquired taste?

I've tried to acquire it and have failed. 0/10 don't get the hype!

My sister assures me all the different types taste wildly different, but they all taste like old socks to me.

The proliferation of non-alcoholic options is fantastic. I hope more get sold at actual bars and stuff, since the social aspect and the fact that alcohol is the centerpiece of a lot of third spaces is, for me, one of the biggest sober struggles. I recently finally had one that I thought was legitimately delicious, this Athletic one.

This is my husband's new fave! I hate IPAs but I took a sip and I cannot tell the difference (both the same type of gross lol)

when i lived in asheville i used to love going to pisgah brewery with friends because they sold a local kombucha, buchi, on tap. it had enough alcohol content to give me a buzz while also being absolutely delish.

more breweries need to offer those sorts of alternatives. some of them would offer stuff like la croix, but that was about it.

Ooh I'd love to drink kombucha on tap like that. The only kombucha I drink is the bottled kind I buy in stores, because I'm too afraid of making my own and poisoning myself. 😖

My husband stopped drinking 14 months ago so I'm happy to see things like this for him ♥

That is amazing!! I don't remember what beer tastes like. But it reminds me of what I think beer tastes like. And there is no bill or 3 day hangover. I love the NA boom! He is going to be overwhelmed by choice!

Yay! He has had some in the fridge since he discovered them a couple weeks ago. I’m so glad NA drinks have become more of a thing in recent years. When we go out, he has more choices and stuff too, so that’s really awesome and helpful for sober people. I’m sure it makes a lot of people feel like they are sacrificing less socially, and not having to deal with so many questions about them not drinking or whatever. I still drink but not much - I’m thinking about giving it up completely after I turn 40 in March. I don’t really see the point anymore tbh.

I quit drinking this year and it was kind of an epiphany lol I’ve always thought of myself as someone who isn’t easily influenced, only to realize the reason I drank was bc it was somehow expected of me in social situations. I did enjoy the buzz but considering the alcohol taste, nausea and feeling bloated, it was just not worth it. Plus, telling people “I don’t drink” instead of coming up with silly excuses has been strangely empowering lol

This is wonderful! I love being able to say I don't drink. The 3 day hangovers and nausea and worse.

I love going to the pub because I'm paying €1.50 or so for a pint of soda water straight from the tap!

I liked the buzz. I miss 2 drink me. She is everything I wish I was
