I loved this show. Buffy & Angel are one of the only TV shows that I have the DVDs of. My sister bought Buffy & I bought Angel, but when she moved and didn't take any DVDs so I have them. I haven't watched them in a while, but my sister saw some clips on YouTube of Buffy and then bought the complete series around 2004 and we spent the summer watching the show. I then pre-ordered Angel and got that once the complete series was released in 2005 or whatever. I have re-watched both shows multiple times over the years & they remain some of my favorites.

I recently learned David is a witch and I feel like that maybe explains his career longevity.

There are a few villains/evil characters in Angel that are haunting to this day.

Apparently. I saw a video of him doing it on TikTok and I have now gone to his Instagram to confirm he is doing spell stuff. Like the stuff he’s posting is “prepping for the super moon”

They really lost the plot after Season 1/2. Angel was only an interesting character as a dark anti-hero. The softening of him (so they could pair him with Cordelia and have it be believable) ruined him. Season 5 worked somewhat because they could shift the comic relief role to Spike and let Angel be grey again. But then everything else about that season.... alas.

That being said, I've never been more "EXCUSE ME?!?!?" at the last minute of a series finale so they'll always have my respect for that.

I really hated when they tried to pair him and Cordelia together. It was NOT needed. They were way better off as friends. They didn't even have any chemistry. I feel like writers keep forgetting or purposely ignoring the fact that you don't need to romantically pair of opposite sex friends just because they happen to be straight.

Same. There was ZERO need for Angel/Cordelia to get together. They were much better off as bffs/Bro&sis. Plus it just turned into a generic "male lead/female lead must be together"

Still sad we never got to see Buffy react to their friendship

IA! They clearly were hurting for a Buffy-style love interest for him after three seasons (Kate fell flat, Darla was amazing but evil) and they didn't want to do the work of writing a new character. I think we could all feel that laziness in the Cordelia pairing.

Still don't understand why they then blew all that up with Conner, but... truly some weird people on that writing team.
