idk their situation, idk who Billie's parents know or don't know, but I lowkey understand the point she's making. Just because someone works within the media industry doesn't meant they've enough pull to insert their child there. The child likely will have a little bif of a leg up through knowledge of the industry ahead of people coming in completely from outside, but it doesn't necessarily mean that all of the doors have opened for them. Most of people in the industry are poor and pretty meaningless to the big guys lmao. Internet is def throwing the nepo baby moniker a bit too easily imo!

obviously this doesn't apply to like children of a-listers tho. they are indeed nepo babying their asses through life.

but having those connections and knowledge of the industry is what helped billie have a career as a teen. it's not always just about having money is it?

she didn't have the same trouble as someone moving to LA to become a musician for example. or look at Chappel who was working a regular job for years and came from the midwest. there's degrees of nepo baby lol

I'd rather say there is a degrees of privilege. As someone above said nepotism is by definition "the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives, friends, or associates, especially by giving them jobs."
Her parents don't have that pull.
But Billie has had the privilege of already living in LA and having parents who know, even if from a lower level, the workings of the entertainment industry.
