Also, slightly related, but there's this sentiment that hollywood doesn't make original stuff, and resorts to remakes, sequels, or recognizable IP.
While yes, they do that, there's also no shortage of original, interesting content put out every year. BUT NOBODY BOTHERS TO SUPPORT IT.

People love a message. They do. But so many recent stuff is heavy handed and blatantly ticking boxes at the cost of making an actual good film or show.
And its unfortunate that vocal minority reactions have turned people off if they see or hear about ONE "progressive" approach to a thing. They may be writing off excellent stuff.

I've had to block both 'antis' and 'real' fans (sometimes interchangeable) on tumblr just to enjoy the gifs and reactions.
*field of dreams voice* If you make something good people will come. Unfortunately maybe not right away but they will come.
But the problem is making something good. You can't just rely on casting and nostalgia.
