And Alien Covenant. As much as i hated Prometheus, they must have gotten cold feet at the studio and says NEEDS MORE ALIENS.
So they scrapped that engineer subplot.

I didn't like Prometheus, in part because I felt like so much of the themes people insisted made the movie worthwhile were incredibly shallow and lacking in real insight, but watching this scene made me almost offended on behalf of Prometheus fans who had been so excited about having this plot thread followed up on only for the movie to essentially pull and Alien 3/The Last Jedi and make all that plotting and build up from the previous movie worthless.
