The Bright Eyes have been playing some smaller shows ahead of an album release

The upcoming shows including Riotfest are now cancelled

their subreddit is not surprised, since Conor Oberst has been in a very bad shape at the last shows:

I was at the Chicago show, and he wasnt as bad as the last time I saw him on tour, but he still talked about killing himself and was stumbling all over by the end of the show. Sounds like the Chicago show wasnt as bad as Cleveland though.

Its heartbreaking, I hope he gets the help he needs.

Idk if I got lucky but I saw him for the I’m wide awake it’s morning tour at town hall in nyc and he was amazing and so was the band/ orchestra

I've been to three shows in Sydney over the years and he's been incredible every time. This post is the first time I'm even finding out bad Bright Eyes shows exist.
