The Life of Chuck has won the Toronto International Film Festival People's Choice Award. The film was directed by Mike Flanagan, is based on the Stephen King novella of the same name, and has an ensemble cast which includes Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay

Oooh this is the one I was most interested in seeing, very nice! Whenever it's streaming I'll get my mom to watch because she loves Hiddles and redheads in general lol.

Stand By Me begs to differ

No of course there are a few good ones, but most of them end up being really disappointing. I think so far I only liked Stand By Me, The Green Mile (probably the best), The Shawshank Redemption and Misery. Oh, The Dead Zone too (mostly cause of Christopher Walken)

Kinda shocked, tbh! Loved the short story, but wasn't sure it'd make for a great movie, and it seems I was wrong. Excited to see it!

I don't think I'll be able to get to The Substance til after our trip, but I am curious about it. Female critics seemed to be less hot on it than male critics when it premiered.

It seems like there were less crazy outlier amazing standouts at TIFF this year, and more of a broad variety of good-to-great movies, which I am not mad about. We've got a lot to watch this fall!

I love Mike Flanagan’s work. Just in time for fall/autumn and binge watch The Haunting series, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher. Looking forward to seeing it.
