The Life of Chuck has won the Toronto International Film Festival People's Choice Award. The film was directed by Mike Flanagan, is based on the Stephen King novella of the same name, and has an ensemble cast which includes Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay.
Since 2012, every winner of this award has been nominated for Best Picture. The runners-up this year were Emilia Pérez and Anora.
The Substance, starring Demi Moore, took home the Midnight Madness award. The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal won best documentary.
