newjeans gives a controversial statement about the mhj controversy

NewJeans went on YouTube with some very controversial statements about the MHJ drama (see posts one two three four) (for ONTDoesn't Read: MHJ created NewJeans, parent company Hybe wants her gone because she was conspiring to take company ADOR and NewJeans and run, MHJ has been fighting all of this), including taking some shots at Hybe itself. what an insane plot twist. i wonder who's advising these girls? bc i can't see this going well for them. there's no way hybe brings back min heejin (bc she was planning a coup, iirc the court agreed with that, they just said hybe jumped the gun) and surely they know this. are they planning to file for contract termination? but then why not just do that from the start?

one thing though that i find quite evident is that if this whole thing involved another company, especially one from the big 3 (let's go with sm since they had many lawsuits), i don't think korean netizens would be this firmly on newjeans' side. korean netizens were much harsher on other idols who had legitimate mistreatment issues (they hated on jyj who were incredibly overworked and underpaid) but somehow are fine with newjeans whose biggest issue is not being greeted?

I was just thinking this
This wouldn't fly with YG or SM
But that's a good thing imo

Maybe mentality are changing

i really don't think it's mentality. bc even with fifty fifty (before the whole mess came out about the girls being manipulated by the givers) sued attrakt netizens were instantly against them

Part of me thinks it might be because of the Hybe of it all. Netizens doesn't necessarily support NewJeans, they're just stans of groups from other companies and want Hybe taken down a peg. lol

it's disappointing that NJ are publicly siding with MHJ. like i get "why" (loyalty) but it'd be better to support in silence in order to have the maximum support for the group. that's how i see it...

idk. in some ways, it feels like a repeat of Fifty Fifty.

I adore NJ and want the best for them, but while they may be the current darlings now, idols are very replaceable. It’s very easy to make a new girl group of it girls and replace them. Which is why impromptu press like this is dangerous with biting the hand that feeds you and made you

They have the freedom to speak up but they’re all under contract and it would take millions to break contract. We’ll see how it goes but I hope they’re ok. They are very young and put in a compromised spot

my only take is that the relationship mhj cultivated with newjeans must be incredibly deep and close, much to their detriment imo. i'm also morbidly curious if she had any other groups on the drawing board with handpicked trainees tbh.

maybe they're trying to make hybe negotiate with them, but idol groups no matter how popular are a dime a dozen in their respective companies and nj is no where near a big enough influence to throw their weight around. svt and lsf are popular, bnd is growing in popularity, but the only one i can see actually getting a label to bow to them if they were in a hypothetical back and forth is bts and they're an outlier tbh.

lol yeah like I think part of MHJ's plan in her Project 1945 scheme was to strike while BTS were gone with the idea that with BTS gone, NewJeans would be at the peak of their power within Hybe but oop. BTS is already starting to return. SVT has been doing really well. LSF is solid and continuing to grow. BND and Illit are both showing tons of promise.

NewJeans isn't such a large part of Hybe's success that they're beholden to demands such as "reinstate our CEO to who was caught committing some white collar crimes".

oh my god

on yeonjun's birthday too!

lmaoooooooooooooooo i am so sorry TXT.

(Also Enhypen is doing just fine and Fromis_9 had a successful comeback recently so like... Hybe is doing ok without NewJeans. They don't have tons of leverage.)

For the whole group to be talking a stance... Shit must be pretty serious
