It's amazing how one act can change someone's life forever. I'm glad he didn't send someone else over or ignore it, but calmly approached her and made her feel seen/heard.

It's not the same, but I remember working in checkouts in my early 20s at a supermarket, and I happened to ask this mother how she was and asked her more questions about what she said (like her husband was in another country for work). I remember she had a small kid with her. Before she took her groceries, she turned to me and thanked me for talking to her and asking her how she was as it made her day and made her feel better as she was really stressed out and having a bad day. Sometimes, I think about that and how one small thing I feel is inconsequential can really turn someone's day around. I always made a point of making an effort with people who I felt looked a bit worn down after that, and outside of the job, I just try to be there for people more now.

Idk how I would aproach a situation like this. I know there're recomendatios of how to speak to someone that are living with siucide episode, I've read them, but I would forget at that time with fear to make it worse. I'm glad he was there and said the right words to that woman, hope she would find help

I didn't want to watch, but I'm glad I did. Also, 988 is not the cops (I've seen this on Twitter a few times) and I am grateful to it being there. I hope this lady can find the resources she needs, and I'm glad there was someone who was willing to reach out and be there with her in that moment. Sometimes, that's all it takes.

And I don't know who needs to hear this, but I'm glad you're here. ❤️
