it's so gross. not saying that hasn't already been said but to pick a rape apologist scientologist that denies mental health issues exist to replace your lead singer who was r*ped as a child and committed suicide is just

a whole choice.

when i catch you in hell mike shinoda i stg

that's rly what puts the nail in the coffin for me. how can you say you cherish the memory of your friend, when this is how you go forward? as if there aren't tons of great women vocalists out there that aren't pieces of shit!

and after his NFT bullshit + his solo floppage, this is so obviously a disgusting cash grab. their legacy should have remained untarnished (and i hope it gets to after this backlash). i hate that this is a mark on it though. it's so disappointing.

i didn't know abt the NFT thing, damn. i'll admit i haven't kept up much in a while bc it got very painful to listen to the songs. it's so bitter. i remember listening to the fort minor CD as a teen and learning through "kenji" of the japanese internment camps. that song blew my fucking mind, i didn't know music could do things like that. it's sad this is what it's come down to.

Linkin Park was really important for me as a teen and I was excited to see them come back with a female vocalist but this is just depressing. :(

And there's plenty of female rock vocalists out there who would have killed it too. Bonnie Fraser would have been great, for example.

the bonnie fraser version of bleed it out is so good. just thinking of what could've been makes me so sad.

linkin park were super formative for me and as i've grown older, i've actually come to appreciate even more the weight of the lyrics, since in the beginning i didn't know of chester's abuse. it feels like a stupid hting to say, but i feel a little betrayed. even if they switch to a different singer now, this feels like such a slap in the face, bc they've shown their colours.

It's not stupid. Their music helped me get through my teen years. It does feel like betrayal, to us and Chester.
