NEON wanted to buy 'Hit Man' but was outbid by Netflix

Neon CEO Tom Quinn naming Hit Man as one that got away is such a bummer. A ton of people saw it on Netflix, certainly, but it absolutely would have been more talked about and engaged with (and, yes, made some money at the box office!) if it had been a theatrical release first. https://t.co/8xM23IVAgx pic.twitter.com/ySxxuukuhc

If Tilda Swinton Glen Powell isn’t your favorite Glen Powell in Hit Man, what are you doing with your life? pic.twitter.com/wuPsgov2fR

And they would have enjoyed another flop release lmao. This was a ~hit~ on netflix literally because all people needed to do was click, and who knows how many dropped it right away. With the crazy amount of obnoxious promo netflix paid for this brain dead movie, no worder people went to check. If people bought into the pr and went to the cinema, they'd be pissed for having had to pay for that and it would have a much lower rating the current inflated number lol.

I really don't respect Netflix or their business model, and I believe the theatrical experience should be preserved. So I'm always disappointed when filmmakers sign with a streamer.

I don't respect Netflix's model of five years between movies in a supposed franchise. Everyone has something to hate about Netflix and I approve of the hate no matter the form it takes.

Hit Man was so disappointing. Once it turned into a romance I just tuned out completely. It should've just been about him taking on the hit man personas.

The movie didn't know what it wanted to be - a satire, a romcom, some indie of some sort?

GP did a good job and was by far the best part of it.
