I mean, according to reports, Justin had directed another $20~ million film before, and this was his third feature - how was he still green?

It's absolutely wild how she walked onto that set with the full intention of turning it into her own barbie moment considering the serious subject matter of the movie. Like girl, read the room. And how tone-deaf can you be?? She should have saved that energy for another movie that wasn't about dv.

And the kicker is, it wasn’t necessary. It seems this film would’ve always been a success. She could’ve set herself up as the thoughtful, shining star of this franchise.

imo, it just reads like he was a bit too idealistic and didn’t have a decisive vision for it, like a teenager making a movie for the first time. and then it reads like she’s a kid who really wanted to play monopoly but got sick of it halfway through lol
