Well, not lying is great, but I don't think that really changes the thing most people are annoyed about - he still drove drunk on a scooter. If there's footage to disprove that, let's see it.

idk why people act like just because he wasn't going 15mph in the clip, he was by all means still shitfaced drunk and COULD have been a danger to someone. i guess for fans of his its a praise the lord he's got a high tolerance? to me tbh it just highlights that he has a problem

you can chalk up the criticism being "excessive" to petty fan war reasons, sure, i don't even think that's wrong. but it's also clearly a direct response to armies at large continuing to downplay the entire thing, or cushioning him with every other detail that comes out. he fucked up. just acknowledge it and move on. jtbc is a gong show for this, and suga could've called a damn cab.

the way fans have been reacting to this online has been wild... he's not your little innocent pookie baby, that's a grown ass man who fucked up and could have hurt someone or himself!! but i guess that's kpop for you. it's like a religion.

It appears that he did tell the truth in his statement, which is a relief, because lying makes it so much worse. He still fucked up, though, and should be punished accordingly. There is no excusing his actions. I don't think he needs to leave the group, though I do think he should go to rehab - seems like he has a serious drinking problem. Don't know what that looks like in a culture which seems to consider drinking de rigueur. But he's going to have to atone with the public somehow if he hopes to continue his career.

I say this as a fan: he needs some humbling. His hubris is and has been an issue, in my opinion. I don't sense that same level of arrogance from the other members, though I'm sure they're all full of themselves to varying degrees.

I agree with the hubris part. He used to be my second fav, but his arrogance & "I am better than you" message in many of his songs really turned me off. You can have diss tracks, especially cuz they did have it hard in the beginning, but he just took it way too far.

A BTS member on a bike wasn't on my scandal bingo for 2024.

He was irresponsible and deserves adequate punishment, there's no need to baby him but some people are equating acting as if this is the same as driving a motorcycle or car under the influence which is just too much. Also, the gif of him falling down is so pathetic.

Now, if we going to speculate... these BTS boys drink TOO much. I would not be surprised to find out at least 2 or 3 of them had a serious drinking problem (that's considering that the average korean guy already drinks a lot...)
