Dan Stevens on Hunter Schafer: "Delightful to realize not every job needs to be like Euphoria"

Dan Stevens thinks the #Euphoria set was a little cuckoo and he wasn’t even on the show.

“Her [Schafer] only experience prior to this was working on ‘Euphoria,’ which is a very, very different experience, and by all accounts, not a terribly pleasant one.” https://t.co/plWiBe9AlE

He seems really lovely. And he's got a great, varied resume.

Most people will disagree, but imo getting killed off Downton was the best professional decision he ever made. That show's writing got worse with every season.

It works so badly for almost everyone else but I think he really hit the ground running with it. I think because he's willing to take on strange and smaller parts, and didn't just expect to handed leading man roles right after.

I think his willingness to go all in with comedy helped too. I remember when he was cast in the Eurovision movie and was NOT into it, but he threw himself into it in a way that really endeared me.

He was so good in Cuckoo. Just perfect casting and a perfect performance. Hunter was incredible, too.

I feel like between Euphoria and Game of Thrones, there could be a really eye-opening MAX documentary about the dark side of MAX shows, if you know, not for the obvious.

I really hope so. They've gotten away with so much.

What was bad on the GoT sets? I only ever watched the first episode and find the fandom exhausting so I don't pay attention to the gossip haha.

The producers were creeps. They replaced the magic from the books with women's nudity. And the actresses who were nude were new in the industry, or fresh from drama school.

Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) cried because she was naked and couldn't wear a robe in between scenes in the first season. Jason Momoa had to speak up for her.

In season six, Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) played a septa who was tied up and Cersei spilled wine on her face. But it took hours to shoot that few seconds scene, so Hannah was basically waterboarded with wine/ juice for hours.

And it left her traumatized, made her claustrophobic.

I enjoyed Cuckoo. I’m a bit surprised that it got the release that it did as I was guessing it was going to be either straight to VOD or just relegated a handful of arthouse theaters.
