Idk if I’m really high or if that was the wildest headline I’ve read in a while

cheers to being surprisingly vain- lol i’m the same.. i’m intentionally “messy” in my everyday aesthetic but it’s so meticulously crafted and i’m self proclaimed, surprisingly (to others) vain. i work out bc 1. i want to still be mobile when i’m older but 2 bc i want a tight body under all these hills of fabric.

i wouldn’t take ozempic though, i don’t want just thinness and it sounds like the stomach issues are frequent side effects

Trial data list nausea/vomiting/constipation as very common, which means *at least* 1 in 10 people get them (it was closer to 1 in 2 in the trial, depending on the side effect). But that’s all severities - from mild to severe (and in trials most instances were mild or moderate).

And often those kind of side effects tend to settle down with time and become easier to deal with.

So yeah they happen a lot, but statistically they should be manageable for most people.

Two of my co-workers take it and while it's good now, in the beginning when they would raise their dose they would be out of work for two days vomiting/shitting their life away. My boss deadass had to tell them to NOT go up a dose at the same time

My sister's doc suggested it as a possible treatment option and I just looked at my family like "guys we have enough bowel issues in this family you really want to try and defy god like this?" 🤣

I'm so lucky, I adapted really well to the dose increases - there were some shortages as well which meant I was on lower doses for quite a while which I think helped!

I've considered taking Wegovy (same drug, but for weight loss), but the digestive side effects have really scared me off. Aside from the constipation that she's mentioning, I've read about people taking it who just feel low-level nauseated all of the time, and others who are regularly throwing up, and while I would love to lose some weight, that does not seem like a great tradeoff! Plus the costs are high, and insurance companies keep taking it off their formularies. Idk.

When i took saxenda, i was also on zofran because i already get nauseous randomly as it is. With saxenda, i was basically nauseous 24/7 + diarrhea. I had to stop taking it because it stopped working but the side effects sure didn't.
(Saxenda is also a daily injection and there is a reason it's quickly becoming unpopular. It's time has come and gone very fast.)

I’ve been on Wegovy for a while as I just wasn’t losing weight like I used to be able to (now thinking it’s probably related to perimenopause… yay hormones). I also did 23&me and it showed I was at a higher risk of things including diabetes, cholesterol issues, coronary artery disease… it felt like it was time to try something new after years of dieting, exercise and failure ( ... )

I've heard people anecdotally say it helped with their shopping compulsions, too, which seems really interesting to explore from a medical perspective.

I mixed Vyvanse and weed when I first went on it. I didn't believe in weed psychosis and now I do

you didn't believe in weed psychosis? as in, you thought people/doctors were just making it up?

No. More like I couldn't understand it because in my experience it has always been so mellow until this one time

idt I'd do it bc I'm easily bothered by any discomfort so losing weight the right way might be harder but it still feels much more doable than trying anything that would give me all those side effects and potentially become a health problem. that said, this is really sad. being a public person having to do these public things even when you're not feeling your best must be kinda brutal, especially with so many people online all ready to tear everyone apart.
