Also there is the optics of erasing the only canonical black character in the book and giving her role(s) over to character(s) who were white in the original story and giving Hugh and Ulf characterisation while nettles is payed dust. There is literally no excuse and this tumblr.. https://t.co/Ewtow2Gcl7 pic.twitter.com/yvedXpodCl

i mean, we don't know that there won't be a nettles until rhaena sits on sheepstealer's back. it could be possible rhaena tracks sheepstealer/nettles down next episode, so i'm holding out hope until then.

Wouldn’t it be something if she tracks this dragon with no plans and sees that it has a rider?
That would be a great scene. Nettles riding (or just chilling in a field) with the “wild” dragon.

it'd be amazing!! and a really fitting contrast from ulf and hugh claiming their dragons in such a violent scene. only having 8 episodes has made some of the scriptwriting weird, but i've held out that nettles would be more of a season 3 character regardless.

This episode was fine, maybe even good, but nowhere near as good as all those early reviewers were overhyping it up as. The pacing has been so awful. And I need the writers to find something substantial for Alicent to do because why are we wasting screentime on her floating in the lake?

lol maybe it’s sponsored by Kerastase

but how are you telling me this woman that has been served her whole life didn’t require any handmaiden for her camping trip yea right like she could change on her own

Did y'all miss her taking over her own care in like episode 1 or 2? Whenever it was that Larys told her he'd handpicked all her maids. It's why her dresses and hair have all been simplified this season, because Alicent is doing it herself

That’s like one scene when she just scrubbed herself like geez forgive me for not taking a leap that far

This was a damn good episode.

I can't help but think [Spoiler (click to open)]Rhaenyra letting Vermithor going HAM on the dragonseeds was a way to eliminate her and Jacaerys' challenge to the throne. She didn't tell them that they didn't have to claim the dragons like she told Ser Steffon Darklyn. She just left them alone and had her guards keep them from getting out.

I guess it's possible she thought it through that much. I think it's more likely that she just doesn't think of the "lowborn" as people beyond her generic duty to avoid mass bloodshed throughout the kingdom and their strategic value to her.

100% And she also got rid of any witnesses that may want to call out how brutal the whole process was and keep her benevolent reputation.

Interesting, I never thought of the sequence like that beyond it sort of being a torturous gauntlet for the would-be dragonriders. 🤔 Rhaenyra has slowly been letting her darker and more ruthless side emerge.

glad tonight was less luigi's mansion and little more spyro. I could give a fuck about daemon and his issues this season.
