Pretty good episode (aside from the Alicent fluff). I really regret reading F&B. If I had not known about the Sowing beforehand, I feel like this ep would have been more exciting for me. I watch the show with my sister (who hasn’t read any ASOIAF) and she was more shocked and hyped by everything that was happening.
imo the sowing would've been better if we had gotten side stories from more than just hugh and ulf. with the focus being on the two of them, it was kind of obvious they were going to get the dragons. they should've followed one or two others to make it a little less clear cut--there's two dragons so we know everyone can't get one and then it's more shocking when they get roasted.
I kind of feel the same way about reading F&B between s1 and s2, but I already knew what happened to most of the characters anyway and it was difficult to avoid spoilers with the way people talked about the show so I figured it was better to just read it for myself.
I wanted more Aegon. Alicent didn't need to be in the episode. The Greens really barely did anything in this one. However, do the smallfolk not realize the blockade is Rhaenyra's doing? Her then trying to send them food doesn't make sense as she's the one who wanted to try to starve them.
Larys has grown on me. Oscar also came into his own in this episode, I think Daemon was surprised by him.
I can't wait for [Spoiler (click to open)]Ulf & Hugh to go over to Aegon and for Rhaenrya to lose it and want Addam dead.. I do like seeing the dragons, but not sure about the backstories with the dragonseeds - they aren't Jon Snow where we need to know their parentage, and it was kind of left a mystery to history who they were descended from.
hiding daeron's casting and revealing him in the season finale would be so cunty, ryan if you did this and managed to get everyone to keep it a secret, you will regain some of my respect immediately!!!!

Also I need Rhaena to get going! I want to see more of her, and sadly more of the Vale which we are not getting.

I would actually be shocked if that happens based on Condal saying that they hadn't even cast Daeron yet & he wouldn't show up until Season 3.
