Longlegs started playing Monday randomly at the theater nearish me (not the closest one, but 15 miles away instead of 50), so my plan is to go to the afternoon show tomorrow.

My birthday is tomorrow and my workload is pretty light so I'm debating going to see it as my present.

There's nothing else I want to see out until next week LMAO. Plus, I want to see if it really is just [Spoiler (click to open)]a knockoff of Cure and Alan Wake.

The Fabulous Four sounds just like Book Club except with a wedding.

Sounds so fun.

Spent some time this week catching up on movies I've missed due to vistors/travel/etc, and boy, was that disappointing!!

MaXXXIne: Really enjoyed both X and Pearl, but this felt so flat by comparison. It was really predictable, and while I was never bored, it wasn't engaging, either. Like, the aesthetics and the music were there and on point, but it was all gloss and no substance. I guess you could say that was by design to reflect the decade, and whatever, sure, but it should still be compelling. Elizabeth Debicki was the highlight for me - so tall! So hot! So bossy!

Longlegs: This was... uhhhhh... not for me. Cool concept and atmosphere with an absolutely dreadful third act. So much stuff did not make sense. And it did not help that a good portion of the crowd kept laughing at stuff that was not that funny? Maybe it's a TikTok thing, idk. This is why I try to see movies opening weekend, lol.

With a weekend viewing of Twisters (which I enjoyed for what it was), I am maxed out on A-List reservations. Next week, gonna try for some ( ... )

Oooh “Didi” looks like an amazing film. I’ll be sure to catch it. I love a good coming-of-age movie and I feel like there hasn’t been any good ones since Boyhood, and Lady Bird, and maybe Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade
