Category Fraud 'The Bear' Keeps Catching Strays For Stealing The Spotlight From Real Comedies

Proud of Abbott Elementary for all of its Emmy nominations this year, especially Outstanding Comedy series as we are definitely a program where the majority of the running time of at least 6 episodes are primarily comedic, as defined by the TV Academy ☺️

I still haven’t watched the Bear, I do want to, but it is unfair that shows like Abbott Elementary have to compete with what basically sounds like a drama that occasionally has comedic elements (which you could say about most dramas-The White Lotus has comedic moments but it’s not a comedy).

I've caught moments while my boyfriend watches The Bear in the other room, and the only impression I have of it is that it's a show mainly about sad/angry yelling people. I haven't caught a moment of comedy.

I still haven't bothered watch any of the rest after the premiere felt like not just second-, but THIRD-SCREEN VIEWING it was ridiculous

I can't believe Claire is a legit character and not a brilliant (but overly drawn out) foil to Syd, who Carmy SHOULD be agonizing over things more WITH at least (platonic or not, tho preferably platonic now bc the writer clearly cannot write romance for shit and apparently Claire is just a self-insert of his wife irl??? wth) instead of Carmy agonizing over this IDEA of being with this childhood sweetheart who his brother and cousin shipped him with o_O

You can tell they put more Faks in the last series to earn the comedy category but they were so unfunny. If I hear "haunt" again I s2g!!

ikr? I liked the original Faks; I don't know this stranger bitch one, and he was really shoehorned in.

We had just the right amount of Faks before! Stop!

The increased screen time for Faks are irritating asf and nowhere near as charming or endearing as the writers seem to think they are. I hate how they make all the women on the show baby them whenever they have to tell them to stop doing something. It's not enjoyable to watch grown ass women having to wrangle manchildren; it just makes me sympathise the woman and hate the man.

The Bear has never been a comedy, not even in the first season.

They nee to change the categories to be 30 mins and 60 minutes and do away with tone entirely. Few shows fully fit comedy or drama anymore and sitcoms are getting fucked over.

yeah, those are more reasonable format categories.

Comedy gets no respect, and it's harder to do well than drama.

There's so many shows that shove themselves in that category that don't belong. The Bear showrunners/decisions makers are pathetic for being so scared to go up against other dramas. I will never root for them to win.
