It’s not often that someone’s first movies are as memorable as “Halloween H20,” “The Faculty” and “The Virgin Suicides.” Follow that up with “Black Hawk Down,” “O” and “Pearl Harbor,” and it’s hard to think of someone who was busier than he was in such a small amount of time.

I never found him that attractive and never understood the appeal until I saw him in Penny Dreadful. There was just something about him in that role that was so sexy. Some actors are just like that for me. I don't find Hugh Laurie attractive at all but as 'House', I thought he was so hot. Damien Lewis, Hugh Dancy, Tim Daly...all actors who are good looking but I wasn't really attracted to until I saw them in a specific role.

I think I just become attracted to the character they play and not what they look like.

Exactly. When I saw him in Hannibal it was like...ohhh okay. But when I saw him in Ella Enchanted I didn't get it. Will Graham suffering with some good gay undertones...priceless.

I definitely missed this phenomenon because I only vaguely remember him being a heartthrob. I didn’t like horror nor war flicks, so I just didn’t get exposed to him like others may have. I only saw Virgin Suicides once, so I don’t even remember him from that. Looking at his filmography rn, I can see how he thought he was on his way to becoming a serious actor (with a couple of exceptions).
