In didn’t know that diazepam is Valium. I know people who take it and I know Valium is meant to be rather addictive right?

I doubt it was meant for that, but yeah, it’s heavy stuff. One of the first things I tell a new psych is that I want to avoid medications ending in -pam because I’ve seen how they affect you. I’m sure I would have gotten addicted if it was my anxiety treatment, especially with how easily doctors would prescribe it back then.

*edited to add: that’s not to say that drugs like diazepam and lorazepam aren’t effective. They really are. But they shouldn’t be the first option unless someone’s safety is at stake.

Botox works super well for my TMJ too, have you tried Daxify? It's like a souped-up Botox and it lasted way longer for me than regular Botox.

There’s a lot of people who need to STFU forever but Celine never have been one of them. 😞

It's amazing how Valium and Xanax can work so well so quickly and yet be so deadly. I so wish we had meds that worked like that but could be safely used long-term.

Agreed. Xanax is a life saver for me. My anxiety manifests itself in phsyical symptoms (still achy bones, rash, shaking etc) and .25-.50 of Xanax takes it all away without making me tired or feeling inebriated. I have a very addictive personality but luckily with Xanax i dont have the urge to take more than i need and can go weeks without taking it

same exact thing with me! my skin will also feel like its stinging almost, but without anything there. i can go days without feeling hunger, and a small dose of xanax or ativan takes the physical symptoms away and not feel the pill affect me mentally if that makes sense

I was put on xanax nightly for about 10 weeks... had to keep titrating up .25 about every 10 days. It scared me and my new dr said he doesn't ever prescribe it to anyone, so I had no access when I ran out. I got up to 2.25/night. It's been months, I still miss the calm and the full night's sleep.
