I was gonna say, isn’t there a 5 min minimum at Cannes? This tells me nothing!

yeah i think the purina commercial before the movie started got like a 6 minute ovation too

seriously, weren't we all clowning that euphoria creep for crying over his 5 min ovation for The Idol last season?

i wonder what chris hemsworth is making up for that he hasn't let go of elsa pataki's hand this entire press tour. she's not even in this movie (i dont think??) and she's in all the pictures lmao

Elsa is in the movie. I’ve mentioned it on here before once or twice, but someone I know worked on Furiosa and said Chris got her a role, and she didn’t really want to be there. She ended up going home halfway through shooting and they had to replace her with her stunt double, which made for an Interesting(TM) vibe.

I was going to say...isn't that not particularly long for them? But people are commenting it's getting good reviews.

I feel like under 5 is a disaster and under 10 is lukewarm but the entire clapping thing has been absurd for a while.

Only 7 minutes, what a flop!

as much as i want this movie to be good, they give the most awful films standing ovations all the time. i mean, jeanne du flop got an ovation.

Didn’t The Idol get a standing ovation last year that had Sam Levinson crying all over the place?

Yeah at this point I don't know why the length of the ovations at Cannes is ever reported on. They'd stand and clap for 20 minutes for a video of a steaming pile of turds if the right person's name was attached to it.

To be fair, that was mostly just the French clapping for abusers - which they love to do.

really looking forward to this film - hope she has the physical power to pull it off. I will say, I'm sad she didn't actually shave her head for it just because I think it's cool af when actresses do that. she would look great with it.

agreed, but it sucks even more that she was happily willing to do it but George wouldn't let her for some reason!
