as much as i want this movie to be good, they give the most awful films standing ovations all the time. i mean, jeanne du flop got an ovation.

Yeah at this point I don't know why the length of the ovations at Cannes is ever reported on. They'd stand and clap for 20 minutes for a video of a steaming pile of turds if the right person's name was attached to it.

To be fair, that was mostly just the French clapping for abusers - which they love to do.

Every film gets an ovation, so I'm not too sure why there's headlines about them every year. The ovation doesn't mean if the film is good or not, it's more like industry people saying congrats you made a film.
