A follow up to this postAlong with Brit Smith officially releasing her shelved version of Karma to streaming (originally titled Karma's a Bitch), the full video has leaked

Neither song is very good but Karma’s chorus does unfortunately burrow itself into your brain and drives you mad. So in that aspect it’s more memorable than Provocative lol
She legit saw the smoke JoJo was making with her version and said "Now here's my moment to shine with my 2012 song!" which is either the most "seize the day" or "cringe" thing, depending on how you look at it.
It'll probably get her some money (not much, bc streaming, but maybe she'll book a performance or two because of the memetic value of the entire thing), so in this economy I don't even blame her
Was she even the one who released Karma? I feel like her song blowing up 12 years later was as surprising to her as to anyone else, though to be honest I haven't been following that closely
Imma be honest. Never even heard of Brit Smith before all this. The video kinda gives Robin Sparkles at the awkward green screen dancing with the first chorus. Crossed with a cheap take on Sin City's film noir colour pop.
I hope she enjoys this 1 second of fame, cuz it will be depressing trying to make a living making tiktok videos about this for rest of her life. Like Bonnie McClide(sic) She pops on my tiktok, clinging to her songwriting success, FOR WHAT, for clout of 4 likes
Lol I enjoy Bonnie McKee and she still makes fun, catchy music. American Girl and Bombastic were bops, and her new stuff is pretty good too. Definitely encapsulates that 2010s-era sound that some of us love.
