oh shut the fuck up. you lost interest and rushed through it because you were over it and ready to move on to something else. nothing about the ending made any sense, it was just nonsense for stock value. "hey we're gonna make Dany go mad!" nice, way to make everything else that happened to her over the last eight seasons pointless. not that it COULDN'T have worked if it was handled better, but they were clearly pulling plotlines out of a goddamn hat or something because idk

Exactly! HBO told them to take as many episodes as they needed, but they had already moved on to their non-existent Star Wars project. I didn’t even mind the Dany plot if they had taken their time to build it up. The Cersei/Jaime stuff was also BS.
It really fucked over the whole show and ensured it won’t be as fondly remembered as it could’ve been.

was it Star Wars? i thought it was some alternate history show where the south didn't lose the Civil War and it got dropped because, crazily enough, viewing audiences turned out to be not keen on the idea of slavery fan fiction by the two dudes who are the reason why the term "rape-ertainment" exists?

That came after. Initially they were supposed to do a First Jedi film trilogy, but they basically got fired from that very early on. Then came the Civil War project

oh fuck off. I'm a huge fan of the books and they fumbled it from day one. despite excellent production value, huge budgets, fantastic casting, and a wonderful soundtrack, they would have gone off the rails FAR earlier were it not for the books to keep them (largely) on track. The moment they went past ADWD they were totally lost. Sure, they got the broad strokes of the ending from GRRM, but instead of laying the groundwork and giving the payoff, they fucked it up soooo hard in their rush to go do a star war

They deserve absolutely every ounce of criticism they got, and then some.

💯

The moment they reduced Catelyn to "shrew nag evil stepmother" archetype in season 1 itself, I got the sinking feeling that they had no respect (such that it was) for the female characters they couldn't show with their tits out. And then they completely omitted Lady Stoneheart for... what? Making Bronn their dudebro audience insert? Having more sexposition brothel scenes? Using rape as character development?

Pathetic. That's why I call the show schlock with pretensions of intelligence but no real understanding of the books. Somehow having that HBO label slapped on managed to bamboozle the critics into calling it prestige television when it was anything but that. Just a poorly-plotted, poorly-characterised mess.

(And I'm not even touching on their dodgy racial politics right from the get-go (their unironic mhysa scene, Oberyn/most of the whitewashed Dornish casting, etc etc), because that would be another rant and a half.)

No, don’t, don’t cut my hair, Ned loves my hair.

Broke me into a mess. 💔

We were robbed of Lady Stoneheart.

I still hate these two pieces of shit with a passion. Wtf are they doing on a podcast? They should still be hiding on whatever island they bragged about disappearing off on to avoid fan reactions.

They're promoting their new series on Netflix "The 3 Body Problem."

Another book adaptation.

THEY'RE the ones behind this advertisement I can't escape on social media?? I'm seeing advertisments for it constantly on tiktok and instagram. HBO or whatever they're named now is pushing it HARD. Explains a lot.

People will never forgive them for wasting nearly a decade of their lives being emotionally invested for them to turn around and slap the audience in the face with whatever the fuck that last season was.

The best thing they can do for the rest of their careers is admit they fucked up and grovel. They need to walk down the streets with someone ringing a bell saying Shame Shame, while they nod and take it.

The way they rushed and ruined the ending and got fired from Star Wars anyway 😭 sucks to suck.
