I saw that.. like $5 million on 2k screens sounds low for horror film 1st weekend.

Oh yeah, for sure. Kind of shocked by that, honestly - usually horror does so well! I will say I don't think the advertising has been great, but I could just not be the targeted audience and therefore not getting ads.

I was excited about Late Night with the Devil but the AI shit turned me off tbh

Seeing Late Night with the Devil tonight and I think DD might be there, judging from his "👀🔥" IG comment replies??? I hope so, I love him. <3 (Not sure I get the big reaction to a few brief AI images -- isn't that the point of AI for now? To compliment, not replace, human work? I only started my AI in Marketing class two weeks ago, so idk!)

Also seeing One Life Sat or Sun, and while Immaculate isn't the kind of thing I'd normally go for opening weekend, a lot of the comments I'm hearing are giving me movie FOMO. Maybe before my ~full moon hike on Sunday!

Seeing Femme when it goes a little wider soon, def gotta find time for Shirley, and last night I watched Hoax: The Kidnapping of Sherri Papini and I 100% thought it was Jaime Pressly the whole time. But it's Jaime King. 😬 oops. Her performance is pretty good, tho!

AI is replacing human work in that they could've just had an artist actually do the work there.

i loved late night with the devil! i saw it at an early(?) screening a few weeks ago so just finding about the ai stuff now. if they were really used for the transition cards/bumpers only seems so unnecessary

That is something they could have easily hired a freelance artist to do, and for only a few pieces it wouldn't have cost THAT much overall. Now they have the controversy of using AI.

still excited for Late Night but the AI stuff is so disappointing. especially for a movie set in the 70s? idk, i feel like creating 70s-style bumpers would be one of the funner parts! it's only going to get worse too.
