It does. I love both Alien and Aliens, and I love how they're essentially both fantastic films but completely different genres for the most part. Alien is much more of a horror film in space whereas Aliens is basically an action movie.

So many of the subsequent Alien films (after the first 2) have been so hit-or-miss, but I always look forward to a new installment while hoping for the best!

The xenomorph is one of the most creatively awesome (and scary!) creature designs in cinema history.
