It can’t be worse than a sequel since alien 3, so I’m looking forward to this.
Especially those god awful prequels Ridley Scott made.

Also, why is this series cursed to have a brunette lead female every time?? If they wanted to do something daring and different, get a strong male lead for a film. With the exception of AVP, it’s a tough looking brunette with short hair, trying to recreate Ripley aesthetics.
How about recreating sensitive tough guy Hicks aesthetics.

And I’m surprised they never made an Alien Isolation film or series. The Working Joe robots were more terrifying than the alien. Buuuut, the games story was basically a rehash of the first 2 films, so maybe that’s why they never made it for the big screen. But it would still make a better series (which they also have alien tv series coming soon as well).

I never even bothered with Alien Resurrection. Would you recommend it, or should I just avoid it? I've seen them all except that one I think lol. But yeah - the only ones I'd say are great are the first 2. 3 had 'moments' but it's complicated production history taints it.

3 had gotten a resurgence of love in the past few years, but it was definitely hated when it came out.
It’s a miracle it came out as decent as it did, considering the development hell it was in.

4 has its moments….i think it’s worth a watch. Story-wise, it’s so far removed from the main series though. It SHOULD have taken place shortly after 3, rather than 200 years.

Aren't there 2 versions of 3? Both the theatrical cut and the Assembly Cut? I want to re-watch it (as it's been a LONG time), but I don't know if I should go with the Theatrical or Assembly.

And I probably will finally get around to 4 at some point just to make up my own mind. Thanks. :)

Oh yes. This looks like it'll more closely match the feel of the first one, which is my favorite.

My eldest furbaby is named Ripley 🥰

My 2nd cat was named Ripley. My coworker found her in a parking lot, she was super tiny, and her iris was jacked up so the vet had me dialate it for a month. She looked like a little alien, and thus, Ripley!

Also, I don’t think the upcoming tv series will touch on this, but an entirely different tv series they could do is set on LV426 when it was being built.
They can touch on how it was becoming commonplace to setup remote space colonies on different planets. The series could end when the hive starts to take over the colony.
It could fill in lore between the first 2 films.
There was even a comic “Newts Tale” that showed what happened

I'll give any movie in this franchise a go, I've only found one completely unwatchable (Alien vs Predator 2).
