can't say i'm a fan of these wins but they were expected. i'd keep only da'vine from the acting quartet

happy for miyazaki and jonathan glazer, his speech was great

I'm so happy for Cillian! Emma Stone winning is the only award that really pissed me off. She beat Lily and Sandra, it's ridiculous. I can't believe she has two Oscars and 5 nominations, she's not that good of an actress imo.

this is the second time emma won over two women who clearly gave better performances/career highlight roles. i don't think she's a bad actress - quite the opposite - but i do think she's lucky in terms of timing, a split ballot, and tbh the best publicist/agent out there. whodda thought that the easy a girl would be the muse of one of the preeminent directors currently working

Her winning a second time just makes her first win look even worse

I know it was a dark horse, but Past Lives sent me on a week-long emotional tailspin and I really wanted it to win SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

Congrats to the actors.

I think the only I was pretty happy for was Godzilla minus one for visual fx. Happy for Wes Anderson finally winning an Oscar (although I haven’t seen Henry Sugar yet oops 👀)

Ryan Gosling was the highlight of the entire show.

Other than that it was a boring predictable year.

Barbie and the Dreamhouses were R O B B E Dfor Production Design!! 😭😞💔

i wasn't particularly gunning for barbie in most categories, but they absolutely should've won for production design. if that movie had one thing, it was amazing aesthetics.

Poor Things was also beautiful in terms of set design, the entire movie was visually so interesting.

I think Barbie didn't deserve the acting, screenplay or BP noms, but it definitely deserved to win Production Design. The Academy really liked Poor Things for some reason and it won awards that other movies should've won

I blame Scorsese for not giving her more screentime, hers should've been the MC

The Oscars are no stranger to roles that straddle the line between lead and supporting, but it seems to me, people are only too happy to push actors of color, especially women, into the supporting categories whenever this question comes up.

I read on Twitter that she's onscreen for 59 mins, which is longer than many Best Actress winners.

And that argument aside, remaining in the lead actress category helps set her up better for more lead actress gigs. Best Supporting wins are often followed by a booking desert for winners, especially BIPOC folks.
