Disappointed Lily didn't win. Pleased about Zone of Interest getting Sound. Everything else went as expected.

I'm still gleeful over "P.I.M.P." playing when Anatomy won + all of Messi's cameos during the show. It almost makes up for the disappointment that the Academy decided to make Emma Stone a two-time Oscar winner.

PIMP playing when Anatomy won was hilarious

emma absolutely deserved that win, lily should have been nominated and would have won supporting, i wish they gave it to jeffrey wright tbh. cillian can (and will probably) win it another year.

still none for bradley so i guess we'll have to endure even more baits until he finally gets one.

I understand when people say that Lily should've been supporting due to her screentime, I still was rooting for her. But even if Lily was in the Supporting Actress category, Sandra Huller was there, and her performance was very superior to Emma's.

ia about Bradley, I hope he keeps trying and never suceeds lol

Nah.
Even if LiLy was nominated as Suppoting, Sandra was still superior.

The Academy, once again, gave the award to "the most" acting instead of the best. It is, to me, as if Bradley Cooper would've won.

Jonathan Glazer's was the most impactful speech of the night, and it's oh so curious that it's the only speech missing from the Academy's YouTube page last time I checked. I'm also happy that Zone of Interest won for Sound.

Also happy for the Godzilla Minus One team, especially that the director was also the head of VFX. It's the first time since Kubrick won for 2001 that a director won for VFX. Also, the woman on the team is only the THIRD WOMAN TO EVER WIN in VFX.

I loved that Boy and the Heron won and that Miyazaki wasn't there.

Crazy how much hasbara there is around him saying he 'refutes his Jewishness' and not finishing the quote.

He was clearly nervous delivering the speech, so I hate how it's being used against him, though very grateful for him doing so.

I can't believe his speech is being used against him. As a Jew myself, I loved his speech and completely agreed with him

It took 96 years for one to even be nominated so...

I want to believe we'll see Lily (or someone else) there again soon and I think she's so immensely talented, but I just don't have faith in the Academy voters at all. We haven't even seen another black woman win after Halle Berry over 20 years ago. It's so crushingly disheartening, but the joke's on me for expecting any different.

I’m surprised I’m still disheartened and once again I feel like the POC has to act gracious like for La la land.

Michelle's win last year gave me just enough hope that maybe things had changed just enough. But nope, I think we can reliably say that the Academy will nearly always go white over woc in the best actress category. They have no problem rewarding woc in the supporting category, but imo that's sending a message that they largely see woc as supporting characters, and not main ones. And I honestly don't know when or if that's ever going to change.
