I'm not watching Eurovision but I'm thinking maybe I'll just post about this song in the #ESC tags and ignore everything else

Knowing Iceland has not selected their entry yet, i hope they make the right decision. Especially the right decision not to select Hera Bjork again given that she is happy to participate and none of the other finalists have made the decision given that many artists in Iceland want to boycott. But i think selecting Bashar is a good choice given what is going on. Also Hera Bjork had her shot several years back and her song was a snoozefest.

I dig it. It reminds me SO much of Portugal. The Man. Like...honestly it is Keep It / Noise Pollution. Also they had a new album in 2023 and NO ONE told me?

I saw some news article (screenshots...) saying if Israel's song is 'overly political' it may not be allowed and they can drop out this year. Fingers crossed, they shouldn't be participating.

I saw something saying that "Israel's" song might be flagged for being political, but I do not expect Eurovision to actually do anything about it. They'll continue to let "Israel" do whatever they want.

If an "Israeli" company is a major sponsor and they threaten to pull out I'm sure Eurovision will relax the rules for them.

🇮🇱🎤 Israel Threatens To Withdraw From Eurovision

There are rumours that Israeli singer Eden Golan's Eurovision entry contains references to October 7.

The song is titled 'October Rain'

It is just absolutely insane to me that they have this much power. That the world is bending over backwards to placate them and let them do whatever when the response to Russia was so very different. The hypocrisy is just laughable.

The song is called October Rain, ffs! Even if it's a ~we're strong together, we rise in the face of turmoil~ song, that's still political, all things given. Political and wildly offensive.

It's mad that in the UK people are unironically saying Muslims have control of London and are influencing government when if it was we'd be seeing very different reaction to Gaza.
