If this is just a US anniversary I don't think so, from what I have seen Events are always world wide and we are currently in the middle of the Sinnoh Tour Event.

The last few games have been disappointing except for Arceus and I’m hoping for a decent Gen 5 remake

Pokémon was everything to me when it was first released in the US. I was in 3rd grade when it got big and I have such vivid memories of that time in my life absorbing all the Pokemon content I could get. I’ve kept up with all the games but the wonder and vigor I had for the series has diminished as I’ve gotten older (and the quality of the games/new Pokemon diminished as well). The peak gameplay period for me was playing online competitive on Pokemon X omg nothing compares to how fun and well-crafted my team was, I miss Mega Evolutions 😭

Edit: actually peak gameplay was playing Pokémon Stadium 2 circa 2000-2001, ughhhh to be a kid again!!!!
