Back in the 90s, Charles Esten was cast in the pre-Broadway production of Smokey Joe's Cafe. He said that in his previous Broadway auditions, he usually did fine in the initial round for singing but would decline dance callbacks because he knew he couldn't dance. I've been rewatching Nashville and he + Hayden are probably the best part of the show (it is garbage but Undermine is still 🤌🏻).

In a reverse ONTD moment, I didn't watch the video but I did read the recap. Reading led me to look up DeLee Lively because that sounds like a fun name. Looking up DeLee Lively led me to realize that Chip's replacement Robert that she married is Robert Torti, who played Lt. Kyle Masters on the short-lived soap opera Generations. Young me had a crush on Kyle and his shiny mullet hair. Having shown my age, I'm going to go put my teeth back in now.
