Back in the 90s, Charles Esten was cast in the pre-Broadway production of Smokey Joe's Cafe. He said that in his previous Broadway auditions, he usually did fine in the initial round for singing but would decline dance callbacks because he knew he couldn't dance. He somehow made it past the dance audition for this show (he says he bamboozled them)

Chip is definitely my favourite fourth player. I desperately need him and Wayne to do an entire musical improv show. It would be glorious.

I thought the original story (just about getting kicked out of the cast but still being paid) was good, but the little bonus story at the end about those two getting married was such a good conclusion.
