I watched this the other day and I was surprised to lean how much she writes for other artists. I'm not really that familiar with her work but she sounds accomplished?

She's not a showtunes writer, she's a pop writer (and there's nothing wrong with that) I blame Disney more for hiring her in the attempt to make some top 40 hits instead of an actual showtunes and musical writer.

Is hardly the first time they hire a pop writer for an animated film (still remember that horrible Timberlake song). But I agree that musical theater musicians are much better choices for this kind of films.

Other musicians write for her and she just says what she likes and what she doesn't. A lot of artists work with collaborators, but in her case it was surprising to see how little she actually contributed.
It was just about one song, can't remember which one atm. Maybe she was more involved in other songs.
