But for real I agree - that’s why I don’t want Sydney & Carmy to end up together in the Bear. I preferred him in season one when he definitely didn’t fuck and the way their relationship is something I haven’t seen on TV before and I’d hate for them to resort to such an overused trope. However I do want Marcus x hot chef Luca to hook up.

I'm torn on Sydney and Carmen honestly. I agree with you on their relationship being a unique one for TV and that it works as a platonic team rather than a romance, but at the same time Black female leads are so rarely treated as worthy romantic partners for the male lead of the show (race notwithstanding) that I also would not be mad if it went in that direction, so long as the story still serves Syd's "I admire you as a chef but I am also not here for your bullshit" vibe.
(also would not be mad about Marcus/Luca)

I'm obvs not against sex scenes but when it's clearly a male director/writer's POV where the woman in the scene feels like she's just there to be sexy for a straight male audience? BOOOOOOO HATE IT.
