For me sex scenes aren’t the problem, it’s how they’re shot. Nine times out of ten it’ll be shot in a very male gaze-y way because most directors are men (and sexist).

Sex scenes where they're just there to arouse straight men are NOT it, imo.

I'm obvs not against sex scenes but when it's clearly a male director/writer's POV where the woman in the scene feels like she's just there to be sexy for a straight male audience? BOOOOOOO HATE IT.

And knowing how many young newer actresses feel pressured to do sex scenes because they really want to break in and fear they might get blacklisted

Ia, I remember years ago a young British actress crying during an interview saying she didn’t dream of being a sex worker when she was a little girl, she dreamed of being an actress, and that always stuck with me.
