Personally I'd like a lot fewer graphic rape scenes

Yeah, like 0. I can't think of a single one that felt necessary for the movie.

I would prefer no more rape scenes at all.

Darn, then Outlander will have to cancel the rest of its show.

Rape is a FREQUENT plot device and it is GRAPHIC

I fucking RAGE at using rape as a plot device. You're not empowering your female character this way and usually filmed graphically on top of it all. It's only there for the male viewer (or the sadistic female viewer).

There are better ways to handle rape in a story if it's going to be used but in most shows/films it's just there to degrade women. Well, rape of any kind to anyone to be fair. Yet is mostly women that get this treatment in stories.

I hate this show soooo much. My mom is ALL into it and tries to get me to watch it and I'm all NOPE.

Yep. It's in almost every fucking season too, in addition to loads of sexual assault of every kind.

Gabaldon is such a hack and shit writer. I read the first book and couldn't with any of the others. I went as far as S2 for the series and checked out.
