I'm going with a friend to see The Creator tomorrow, and my parents are also going at some point this weekend (my mom demanded my dad go with her without knowing I'd already told my dad all about it). I think somehow it's building word of mouth because lord knows it's not getting much publicity.

Saw my first film of Beyond Fest yesterday - The Royal Hotel

I liked it a lot. It builds on the same kind of vibes of Kitty Green's first film (The Assistant), but in an entirely different sort of setting. It's a little slight, but definitely worth a watch. And even though I learned months ago that Hugo Weaving was in the film, I'd forgotten and was SHOCKED to see his name in the credits, lol. He just looks so different than Elrond!

Tonight is our second Beyond Fest film - Manhunter (1986), with a Michael Mann Q&A. I've never seen it before, but I love William Petersen, and the Letterboxd rating is decent, so fingers crossed for me

Every toddler I know (seven whole people) is seeing Paw Patrol this weekend. It’s like Avengers for pre-schoolers.

My 5 year old nephew played me one of the songs from the movie the other day and said "This was huge in the 90s!" (because that's what his dad says when he makes the kids listen to his music in the car lol)

Watching Henry Sugar tomorrow and Flora & Son on Sunday. I still want to see Stop Making Sense in theaters too and hope I find time to catch it before it leaves my area.
