Why is "Cleopatra in space" such a popular concept lol I get it bc it seems kind of cool and people are too lazy to research other Egyptian rulers in her stead.
Is there a popular property that uses a mummy that isn't named Cleo?
I remember there was an animated show about Tut and I'm 90% sure the modern day girl was called Cleo lol the closest thing I can imagine is maybe the Bartimaeus Trilogy that did have a Ptolemy in a significant role.
I remember that cartoon! I think, anyways. It used to play on the same syndicated Saturday morning block as Jackie Chan Adventures and Yu-Gi-Oh and you know what? I loved it.
Wonderfalls! Yes, loved that show, bought the first season/series DVDs lol (still have them)
And I do remember 666 Park Avenue, I don't actually have a lot of memories of the storylines but I followed it, even when they shuffled it off to Saturday night but I missed the ending.
my gf has been getting me to watch Archive 81, and it's unlocking so many memories about 666 Park Avenue. i don't remember anything specific, but I remember thinking it was going to be dumb but really liking it and getting drawn in more and more with each episode.
Wonderfalls was cute but the mid-season turn to schizophrenia/main character becoming a Dexter-like “good” serial killer (explaining the talking objects/way to inject more action and stakes into the show, respectively) was way too large of a tonal shift and I’m not surprised it didn’t save it from cancellation. They had to move it to 10:00 because of the gore, which didn’t help either. The little ceramic lion coaching her through her first dismemberment still haunts me.
I watched both Tru Calling and the Russian remake Я отменяю смерть (it was a messy with 24 episodes with some bad acting and low budget and the ending was left open for an expected second season that never happened LOL Rita (Tru) had a magical bracelet from her deceased mom that gave her the power to save people and there was Artur (Jack) her lover with a similar bracelet and opposite power. One of the big questions of the series is how can two opposite powered people stay in love and do what they are supposed to do saving and not saving people.
S1 was so good! They rly shifted the story in S2 after 9/11 tho. They moved away from the realistic and personal elements - terrorist attack, societal collapse, Max’s family - to a more lighthearted and generic freak of the week formula
There was a lot of nonsense happening behind the scenes during S2, but it sort of lost touch with the dystopia part of the story and became more sci-fi
My thirsty ass watched a shitshow called The Nine Lives of Chloe King exclusively for Daniel Sherman I wonder if he’s still getting that bread or like at least some bread.
