It's for the best they are dropping it. I remember Mexican week being very poor. I generally really enjoy the show though - and binging it during the pandemic got me really into baking & I've been consistently making things the last 3 years especially on the weekend when I don't have a lot going on.

I hadn’t realised but future First President of the British Republic Miss Alison Hammond is presenting instead of Matt Lucas! There was an article in the Guardian about it, and apparently the atmosphere is fantastic now - even Paul has hugged someone.

She’s the one that was even able to make grumpy ol’ Harrison Ford laugh, right? I’m on board with it!!

Her “Never seen it” is one of the great comedy moments: https://youtu.be/bAb8KIhgVAI?si=zZV47DTVvtfA1wIZ

maybe they should try holiday themes instead (they might already have this i don't watch very much anymore).

halloween bakes, winter holiday bakes, valentine's, etc, etc.

i want them to do an everything but chocolate bake.

and to give the bakers enough proper time to do their bake, and not hope for all the planets, outside temperature and humidity level to be alligned right. Like, stop teaching viewers that you should always put your bakes into the fridge and freezer to cool off, ffs.

Ikr? I’ve never put any bake in the fridge/freezer but it seems like a great way to get a really inconsistent texture

I do store stuff in the fridge - a lot of stuff if it has heavy cream, etc... can't be left out at room temperature - it can only sit out a few hours.

Good. Now can we just get a way to legally access every season of British reality competitions( sewing bee, pottery throw down, etc) as an American?? I’m so mad Max hasn’t added the latest season of pottery throw down 😡😡

It is weird to me how Netflix didn't take advantage of all the Bake Off spin-offs (which are superior to it btw) and make them easily available.

My Plex server is my only access since I refuse to pay for another streaming service (Canadian)

Last season as a whole was disappointing. Did I fever dream them doing very little actual baking?

My guess is that they are very adverse to repeating bakes, but honestly - who cares? I’d rather see them making some more cupcakes than mispronounce guacamole sixty five times.

No you didn't, besides the complaints about themes etc the other complaint last year was that there was a lot of stuff that was more cooking than baking

They had to make s'mores, for fuck's sake.

Honestly it’s really gone downhill. Last few seasons have been crap. The one with Nadiya was the last good one.
