I’m from a country where essentially we don’t / can’t have strikes. I love my country, and we are known for our stability and efficiency, but this is a fucking stupid take. If the system is not working, you can’t work within the system. Individuals should be able to take on the system in a way where they can be collectively protected. Particularly in cases where capitalism has gotten to breaking point and people can’t live doing a decent day’s work.

I knew it was gonna be Singapore. I sat in an IO psych class once where the prof said that businesses there don't view workers as an expense but an asset (not the right wording, but they're a + and not a - on budgeting basically). If I remember correctly, the gov paid half of ppl's salary during covid
