i was gonna make a joke about how James Woods probably is one of those people but uh he did tweet out support about the strike (and also, he's listed as an executive producer on Oppenheimer?? really?)

but if i have to assume the people who voted against the strike and are talking shit about it are ppl like Amell, smaller names. some who get most of their money from rewatch podcasts, a few big names that are mad they can't promote their movies. if the strike goes on any longer, more of them will speak out like Amell i'm sure.

Strike are a necessity

But some people overuse it (I'm french, I would know - looking at you SNCF).

However, this is not the case here
The demandes are very fair, studios execs are just greedy assholes

I'm in Portugal and it seems the teachers/school staff are always striking on Monday or Friday when we have a holiday on Tuesday or Thursday. Timing seems suspect to me lol

You're actually hinting at something that's positive: a Fri/Mon stroke is less disruptive than, say, a Tuesday strike. It gives the parents the ability to take the day (and have a long weekend) with their kids.

I think it's generous of that union! If they wanted to fuck things up, they would strike Tu-Wed every week. That would greatly disrupt everyone, including the economy.
