‘Jackass’ stunt performer Wee Man (real name Jason Acuña) is ripping Disney for swapping out "dwarves" for taller actors in the upcoming live-action version of "Snow White" ... he says it's another existential threat facing his community.

if disney really wanted to do this in an interesting way, they could have cast whoever they want as the "seven dwarves" while also casting little people in the film in other roles!

this debate came up about 10 or so years ago here in the uk because of panto. the press (without prompting) started saying that panto had to get riid of castinngn people with dwarfism as the dwarves and stop performing snow white because it wasnt "PC" (all the media saying this were right wing) and actors with dwarfism in the uk came out in droves saying that doing so would literally ruin their lives as they earned so much during the panto months that it kept most of them going through the rest of the year when jobs would be much more scarce. like Panto dames and panto dwarves are two of the highest paying jobs in panto and people literally have careers just doing those roles.

They could’ve just work to not make the characters stereotypes. Or maybe have a mix of little people and average height people. Completely nixing the little people seems like the wrong move.
