‘Jackass’ stunt performer Wee Man (real name Jason Acuña) is ripping Disney for swapping out "dwarves" for taller actors in the upcoming live-action version of "Snow White" ... he says it's another existential threat facing his community.

So this is one of those situations where people decided on behalf of little people, that little people should not be cast in the movie? I know that Peter Dinklage made a comment, but it’s not like he gets to decide for everyone.

I think it’s more a situation where instead of learning how to appropriately tell this story with Little People they decided to skip that conversation entirely.

While a lot of people are ableist assholes to folks with dwrarfism, even more of them are just too embarrassed to maybe misspeak while learning from the community itself. So they’ll do what they can to ignore it as an issue altogether. That’s what this feels like.

Peter came off as such an asshole for his comments and I agree with the people who are upset by this outcome. The problem is, Hollywood doesnt want to work WITH people with dwarfism to write decent characters that arent based strictly on stereotypes or caricatures. I cant remember if the OG snow white casted the characters in a stereotypical light or not, I just remember them all being named after their distinctive individual personalities. Its totally doable. Hollywood just doesnt want to do anything correctly, they dont want anybody influencing their shitty decisions and they never want to compromise with anyone on anything if it doesnt strictly benefit them. And this is one of the reasons we are headed to an AI entertainment universe so quickly. AI doesnt talk back, argue for proper representation or payment, and doesnt ever question anything the director/producer wants. And the fact that they refuse to do new things and are just remaking shit over and over and then complaining about having to add any validity or similarity to the

If the dwarves are humanized in SW w/actual storylines then casting little people wouldn't have been an issue.

Just hire little people. Not hiring actors from a marginalized group is not the answer.
