I don't think he got fired from the Witcher, I think he decided to go. It was apparently surprising to everyone and happened a few months after filming.

I do think he believed he would be walking right back into being Superman, though, and oop

He wanted to leave The Witcher because he’s a huge Witcher nerd and the writers have not stayed faithful to the material. This was a passion project for him and the writers pretty much killed it.

He's a huge nerd for the games, but during promo for s1 I got the vibe that he hadn't gotten around to the books yet or maybe hadn't finished them. I swear there's an anecdote where he thought the books were based off the games rather than the other way around.

And then he probably read them between s1 and s2. It's just funny imagining him being a newer passionate fan.

But tbh, certain fans complaining about book faithfulness have become a dog whistle/red flag to me since I saw too much of it being used as a shield for bigotry in terms of casting decisions. And well, Cavill being such a known gamer, I sometimes wonder though obviously that's me being biased rather than any actual confirmed reports.

I feel like Witcher was a huge show before and Season 3 has been bizarre. I did not know it released until I opened Netflix like, yesterday. I have seen exactly zero people discussing it anywhere in any way. Did it absolutely die between S2 to S3 or am I just somehow missing it this time? I miss all the memes and artwork and discussion lol.

season 2 was terrible, basically, and people aren't that into S3 knowing that Cavill is leaving, is why I think no one cares anymore.

I'm only finding out now that it's been out for almost a week, lol.

It was a huge mistake to announce Henry leaving so early and Liam isn't exactly what anyone had in mind as a replacement.

lol I feel you. I LIVED for this show in season 1 and the fact that I missed its release for a couple days is wild. Netflix really managed to murder the franchise they were trying to create. The wasted potential is really remarkable ( ... )

I found it pretty boring tbh. Maybe I’m just over it. Also Jaskier seems pointless now. I didn’t get his storyline at all. Since when is he someone worth scheming with?

Is this Netflix’s new way of canceling a series?
