What's worse is that she signed it "George Glass, on behalf of my girlfriend Fran"

This is like when Fran met AU Fran (Bobbi Flekman) on The Nanny.

Good for them for doing the right thing, but idk these second round lollygaggers make me think they were waiting to see how it was received before they committed. Like - oh this went over well? Oh my super famous colleagues already signed? Ok sure I'll sign.

Honestly I think they put it together really fast after Fran's stupid video last week because they wanted to get it out there asap before SAG takes a deal (contract expires Friday), so I'm sure a lot of people did not hear about it in time. There's really no downside to signing it, I don't think anyone would have held off to see how it was received.

Honestly I am SO MAD about how the writers are being treated like an afterthought. DGA used them to get a better deal, SAG is using them to get a better deal, the people who come up with the ideas are starving and asking for breadcrumbs.

It always seems like everyone BUT the idea makers are getting paid.

I'm surprised actors seem okay with the writers not having a fair deal (not all of them, I know a lot of the Abbot Elementary gang support them). Like they're okay with performing the words of ChatGPT??

Laci Mosley let a few of her guests (who are writers) on Scam Goddess explain the strike on their respective episodes and I was honestly shocked to find out what all goes behind the scenes. Sure, there’s a small minority of writers that are big names and make bank, but the rest continue to be screwed. If I were famous and an actor, I’d be lending my name to the cause so fast. You literally wouldn’t have work if it wasn’t for the writers… wtf!

Not to be overly dramatic, but I really do feel like this is a critical juncture for film and television writing as a profession. I really hope SAG holds out for a good deal, and that the WGA doesn't get left out in the cold.

i was listening to the town and it's truly crazy how like, bad things have gotten for writers. i know sag has their own very specific things they are hitting on but the idea that you cannot build a career as a writer anymore is really sad.
