I've been watching some docuseries on reality shows lately and it's still so wild to me that she basically remains the one true winner of American Idol after 23 years. I know we had Carrie and Fantasia and all these other personalities to come out of it, but I think Kelly is the one mainstream icon who really succeeded from it.

I mean, most of the seasons of this show produced no one. But a few have done well for themselves. Katharine McPhee has had a decent-ish career. Kellie Pickler did well in country music. But Kelly and Carrie are the only true superstars. J. Hud has the most critical success for sure. Oh and Justin Guarini is Lil Sweet in those Dr. Pepper ads roflcopter

but when you compare it to shows like The Voice or America's Got Talent, suddenly American Idol looks like a way more appealing way to launch a reality tv singing career, because The Voice has had not only no significant winners, the show itself is so obviously just a vanity project for the judges to banter stupidly with each other.

I liked it so much! A lot of her past songs didnt showcase her voice as much but this one really gives her voice the space to shine.

I Hate Love and My Favorite Kind of High are my favorites at the moment. It's a good album. My December still reigns as my favorite album of hers though.
